Lawsuit filed after woman killed by falling church debris

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a Chicago woman who was killed by a falling chunk of concrete facade from a South Loop church.

Thirty-four-year-old Sara Bean was waiting to cross the street with her boyfriend Thursday in the 1900 block of South Michigan when a piece of stone gargoyle fell off Second Presbyterian Church.

Her boyfriend filed the suit Monday, which seeks more than $100,000 in damages.

A woman was killed after a piece of facade fell off of a church in the South Loop, police said.
