CHICAGO (WLS) -- Charges are pending against a man who police said bit a paramedic who was trying to help him in the Loop. A firefighter was also injured in the struggle.
Rescue personnel responded to a "man down" call in the 200-block of West Jackson Boulevard around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the man bit the paramedic on her left calf as she tried to put him on a stretcher. When a firefighter stepped in to assist, his shoulder was dislocated in a struggle. Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and are expected to be OK.
The man was taken into custody and police said charges are pending against him.
