CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police shot and killed a man who authorities said tried to pull a gun on them in the city's Park Manor neighborhood.
Officers responded to a call about a man with a gun near East 75th Street and South Langley Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
When an officer approached a man matching the description, police said he reached into his waistband and started to pull out a gun. An officer shot him once.
After he hit the ground, the officer said the man tried to point his weapon at them again. An officer shot him a second time.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Friends of the man's sister said he had five gunshot wounds - not two.
Police recovered a semi-automatic handgun at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The Independent Police Review Authority is looking into the case.
