CHICAGO (WLS) -- One day after some Chicago police officers started wearing body cameras, Chicago Police Supt. Gary McCarthy spoke out about their importance.
"It'll give us the opportunity to draw conclusions from some of our investigations that are generally he said she said scenarios where we can't prove or disprove what happened, so I'm an advocate for it," McCarthy said.
Some officers will wear the cameras clipped to their clothing, others on their glasses, goggles or head gear.
Officials say if the pilot program is successful, it will be expanded across the department.
