Motorcyclists honor Nickolaus Schultz, fallen Merrillville police officer

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (WLS) -- There was a show of love and support Thursday for the family of a northwest Indiana police officer killed in the line of duty.

Merrillville Officer Nickolaus Schultz was shot during an apparent ambush.

Motorcyclists took part in a rose ride from Crown Point to the Merrillville Police Department, where each person left a flower in Schultz's honor.

His visitation will be Sunday at the Star Plaza in Merrillville. His funeral is on Monday.
