Is Obama planning a farewell event in Chicago?

CHICAGO (WLS) -- President Obama may be planning to give one final farewell and "Thank You" to Chicago before leaving office in January 2017.

ABC7 has learned that the Secret Service is scouting out large venues for an event that is expected to take place on January 10 in the city where the road to Obama's presidency started.

The White House has not responded to a request for a comment.
