CHICAGO -- Jennifer Kraft, 34, is suing the city of Chicago for injuries that left her paralyzed from the chest down when she fell off the Chicago Lakefront Bicycle Trail.
Kraft says that while she was riding her bicycle north on the trail near East 37th Street in April of 2013, when the path abruptly ended without warning.
She fell nine feet to the concrete below, fracturing three vertebrae and puncturing her spine.
"All of a sudden I was on the ground, my helmet had shattered directly, and then I realized I couldn't move my legs at all," Kraft said. "There should have been more done with this dangerous area to make sure people knew about it so that they could protect themselves."
ABC7 Eyewitness News has tried to contact the city about the lawsuit, but has not yet received a response.
