Pilot killed in St. Louis medical helicopter crash

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (WLS) -- A medical helicopter crashed in St. Louis early Saturday, killing the pilot.

Flames could be seen shooting from the wreckage. Streets were taped off near the St. Louis University Hospital where the pilot was headed.

The crash happened shortly after take-off. The chopper hit an empty pickup truck on its way down.

Investigators are trying to determine what went wrong.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
