3 shot in attempted armed robbery at KFC in Aurora, police said

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- Three people were shot in an armed robbery attempt at a restaurant in west suburban Aurora Thursday night, police said.

Citing preliminary information, police said that two suspects entered a Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 1300-block of E. New York Street around 8:30 p.m. and announced a robbery.

Shots were fired during the incident, and three male employees were hit by gunfire, police said. Two of them were critically injured.

Two persons of interest are in police custody.
