Police are searching for the man who allegedly groped a teen girl on a CTA Blue Line train approaching the Logan Square station.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for a man who allegedly inappropriately touched a 16-year-old girl on a CTA Blue Line train heading for the Logan Square station during rush hour.

The teen told police a man pressed himself into her from behind on a packed train around 6:45 p.m. Thursday and began rubbing her backside as the train pulled into the CTA Logan Square stop in the 2600-block of North Milwaukee Avenue.

She tried to pull away and the man ran off the train when the doors opened. Two male witnesses tried to chase him, but were not able to catch him.

CTA commuters told ABC7 Eyewitness News they always have to be alert when they board the trains.

"It definitely worries me. I always try and be as aware of my surroundings as I can be but I know that doesn't make you exempt from assault," Lauren Callaghan said.

"How does someone know when that's going to happen to them it's kind of sad," Brittany Bobert said.

Police have released a vague description of the suspect. Area North detectives are looking at possible surveillance video.
