CHICAGO (WLS) -- A helicopter made an emergency landing in the parking lot of the Menard's in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

The pilot noticed an oil leak around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and had to land the small, black chopper immediately. The aircraft landed safely outside the store in the 2600-block of North Clybourn Avenue, without any visible damage. No one was hurt.

A helicopter made an emergency landing in the parking lot of the Menard's in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

FAA officials told police the pilot was flying from O'Hare International Airport to Peoria, Ill.

The pilot is from Hennepin, Ill. The tail number shows the helicopter is registered to Rotor Holdings LLC, a company headquartered in Hampton, New Hampshire.

Officers are guarding the area around the helicopter Thursday morning to keep people at a distance. Some people were stopping by to take selfies in front of the aircraft.

Police said a helicopter company from Peoria will be coming out later on Thursday to remove the chopper.
