Police: Innocent woman, 65, shot in back during gang shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A gunman fired shots at a documented gang member on the city's South Side and ended up shooting an innocent woman, police say.

The 65-year-old is in stable condition after getting shot in the back on the 7100-block of South Merrill.

Police say a 21-year old man, a known gang member, was the intended target. He was also shot.

No one is in custody.
