Second girl approached by man driving white van in Valparaiso, police say

VALPARAISO, Ind. (WLS) -- Valparaiso police are investigating a second report of a man in a van approaching a teen girl in Beauty Creek Subdivision.

The 15-year-old girl was walking home in the area of Kickbush Drive and Knights Bridge Drive when police said a man driving a white van asked if she wanted a ride home.

Valparaiso police said in a release that patrols have been increased in Beauty Creek.

Residents have been asked to report suspicious activity involving a man described as Hispanic who is driving a white van. The van has the letter "P" in green or blue on the side, according to a release from Valparaiso police.

If residents see suspicious activity in progress, police ask that they call 911.
