Police warn Lakeview residents after armed robberies

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning Lakeview residents after two armed robberies took place Sunday afternoon approximately 20 minutes apart.

The first incident occurred in the 3700-block of North Wayne just after 1 p.m., when police say a woman approached a victim from behind before displaying a handgun. Police say the suspect fled the scene in an older model white car heading northbound.

The second incident occurred in the 3600-block of North Bosworth around 1:25 p.m., when police say a man approached a victim from behind with a handgun. Police describe the man as 5 ft. 9 in. tall, 250 lbs. with dreadlocks, and say he fled the scene in an older model white car with a license plate beginning with "Y25."
