FOX LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- The disgraced former Fox Lake police officer who staged his own suicide may soon be losing a state honor.

The Illinois Senate is considering a bill that would expunge a resolution honoring Joe Gliniewicz from state records.

The resolution was passed while the case was still being investigated as a homicide.

It took more than a month for investigators to determine that Gliniewicz tried to make his suicide look like murder.
