Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon, Christ Universal Temple founder, dies

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Members of a church on Chicago's Far South Side are mourning the death of their founding pastor, Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon.

Colemon died Tuesday, a church spokesperson said. She founded Christ Universal Temple in 1956 and retired as the senior minister in 2006. The church is located on a 100-acre campus at 119th and Ashland.

Funeral arrangements for Colemon are pending.
