CHICAGO (WLS) -- An overnight fire disrupted service on the CTA Brown and Red lines.

Riders had to evacuate from the Brown Line station at Armitage around midnight Saturday.

The fire sent heavy smoke through the station and out onto the street. Police first thought the fire was on the elevated platform, but they later found a generator was burning in a construction area under the platform.

No injuries were reported, and the CTA said service is back to normal.
