SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man riding in a car was shot to death by a gunman on a motorcycle on Monday morning in north suburban Skokie, police said.
The Skokie Police Department was called to the intersection of McCormick Boulevard and Oakton around 9:45 a.m. The fatality, who was shot in the chest, was driven to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead.
"Investigators do not believe the was a random incident," according to a statement from the Skokie Police Department.
No one is under arrest, and police say the investigation is ongoing. The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force is assisting.
"It shows you that crime never takes a break, and that we all have to be aware and be careful. If there are any witnesses, by all means, report someone. Call 9-1-1 as soon as possible," Skokie Police Officer Joe Marzigliano said said.
