CHICAGO (WLS) -- As the evening commute got underway, a loud pop sounded in Union Station and mysterious black liquid poured from the ceiling near Track 6.
A Union Station spokesperson told ABC7 Eyewitness News reporter Ben Bradley that a sprinkler pipe burst in the ceiling. Union Station cleaning crews quickly mopped up the liquid, which is no longer pouring from the ceiling.
There are no significant delays or stoppages reported by Metra as the evening commute begins.
