CHICAGO (WLS) -- Congressman Bobby Rush is leading a call to name Chicago's 31st Street Harbor after the late Margaret Taylor Burroughs, co-founder of the DuSable Museum.
Rush says this is the right place and the right time to recognize the contributions of Burroughs, who was also an artist and a longtime Park District commissioner before her death in November 2010.
"She lived all of her life in the interest of this city, in the interest of its citizens and the interest of this community," Rush said.
Rush points out the city is building a park named after the late Maggie Daley and could name a terminal at O'Hare International Airport after former Mayor Jane Byrne. He says Burroughs legacy should also be honored.
