Trial to begin for man accused in Demarius Reed slaying

Opening arguments begin Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of killing an Eastern Michigan University football player.

Prosecutors say Ed Thomas followed Demarius Reed of Chicago into his off-campus apartment last October.

He then allegedly robbed and shot Reed twice, killing him. Another suspect in the case, Kristopher Pratt, pled guilty to 2nd degree murder last week for his part in the crime.

Pratt is expected to testify during Thomas's trial.
