The college student accused of threatening to shoot several people on the campus of the University of Chicago has been released.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The college student accused of threatening to shoot several people on the campus of the University of Chicago has been released into his mother's custody.

Jabari Dean's mother was told in court Tuesday morning that she would be held responsible for reporting her son if he violates any conditions of his pre-trial release.

The judge ordered Dean to submit to a mental health evaluation and stay off the internet unless he needs it for his studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also not allowed to travel outside the Northern District of Illinois.

The University of Chicago was closed and all classes were canceled Monday due to the online threat.
