Woman killed, man wounded in Harvey shooting

HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in Harvey are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead and a man wounded Sunday morning.

After receiving a report of shots fired at a home in the 14600 block of Winchester Avenue, police found a man and woman who had both been shot several times. The woman, 49, showed signs of life and was transported to Ingalls Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The man, who is in his 40s, is in unknown condition.

Police believe that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.
