INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (WLS) -- A concerned citizen apparently had nothing to fear after calling police about a carload of canines.
Police officers in Independence, Mo., got a call about a car with a large number of dogs inside.
"Yes, this really happened today! Each day is different for a police officer but this definitely doesn't happen very often," the police department wrote on its Facebook page.
Officers were sent to assist Animal Control after someone thought it was suspicious when they saw 20 dogs in a car.
It turned out that these rescue dogs were all well taken care of and just on their way to a dog show.
Police say they are all trained and have their own special talents, though a few of the younger ones are still in training and only know how to give kisses.
