Pilot injured after small plane crash in Hampshire

A pilot is recovering after a small plane crash in Hampshire, Illinois Sunday night.

Hampshire is about an hour northwest of Chicago.

Investigators said the pilot of the Cessna hit some power lines before crashing in a field near Route 20 and Getty Road at about 6:26 p.m. Sunday. The impact caused the power lines to snap.

The pilot was taken to a hospital in Elgin with non-life threatening injuries.
