CHICAGO (WLS) -- There's some tough talk about Republican candidate for governor, Bruce Rauner, on the issue of same-sex marriage.
LGBT leaders have unveiled a two-story banner at Roscoe and Halsted quoting Rauner saying he would veto a bill on same-sex marriage. It's been put up ahead of the Pride Parade Sunday.
The co-founder of Equality Illinois, Art Johnston, says the candidate is on the side of bigotry and intolerance.
A Rauner spokesperson says Rauner has a fiscal agenda, not a social agenda, and he is focused on the fiscal issues of the state.
He has said all along, if the gay marriage went to a referendum, that would be fine with him.
