Kim Foxx picks up endorsement in Cook County state's attorney race

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia is endorsing Kim Foxx for Cook County state's attorney. He calls her most qualified candidate in the race.

Foxx is in a face-off with incumbent Anita Alvarez and Donna More in the Democratic primary on March 15.

Garcia said Foxx is best person to restore trust in what he called a "sullied" office.

Alvarez's office issued a statement that said: "It's not surprising that Kim Foxx is standing up with a Cook County insider... who worked with her to raise the sales tax and give her supporters millions of pay raises... instead of talking about her record."
