We're talking this week about money, the state's money and the person responsible for the safekeeping and investment of public funds.
Our guests are the candidates for Illinois treasurer, republican Tom Cross and democrat Michael Frerichs.
Frerichs is a state senator from Champaign. He served as Champaign County Auditor from 2002-2007 and was on the county board there. If elected, he says he will call for an audit of the treasurer's office on his first day.
Cross has been a member of the Illinois House since 1993. He previously served as the House Republican leader. If elected, he says he will use the full power of the office to require the state to approve a balanced budget.
