CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago City Council is moving forward on plans to bring President Obama's library to Chicago's South Side.
A joint council committee voted to allow a transfer of 20 acres of land in either Washington Park or Jackson Park. The sites are part of a library proposal by the University of Chicago.
The full city council will vote on the land transfer on March 18.
It's one of three proposals up for consideration. A winner won't be announced until after Chicago's mayoral runoff.
