According to a press release from Cook County Clerk David Orr, households impacted by these changes will receive a postcard notifying them of the change.
While polling places are primarily public buildings, they can change for a variety of reasons, such as safety issues, construction projects or space constraints, Orr said.
There are 1,673 precincts in suburban Cook County and more than 1,000 polling places.
