CHICAGO (WLS) -- Less than two weeks after Election Day, Chicago is already gearing up for the city election at the end of February 2015. Races on the ballot include Chicago mayor, city treasurer and alderman in all of the city's 50 wards.
Potential candidates began filing their nominating petitions for the Feb. 24 vote at 9 a.m. Monday at the Board of Elections office. A lottery on Dec. 3 is planned to determine top ballot positions for each contest. Candidates who are in line at or before 9 a.m. qualify for that lottery.
The filing process continues through Nov. 24.
