CHICAGO (WLS) -- One year has passed since the U.S. Senate passed an immigration reform bill. A Chicago congressman who is a major supporter of the legislation now says it is dead.

Congressman Luis Gutierrez used a soccer analogy to blame GOP House members for failing to take action.

"I gave you the warning three months ago and now I have no other choice. You're done. Leave the field - too many flagrant offenses and unfair attacks and too little action while you run out the clock. You are out. Hit the showers. You get the red card," Gutierrez said.

Gutierrez now says it's up to President Barack Obama to take action to curb deportation.
