Replacement named for state Rep. Sandack seat

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- A College of DuPage trustee has been named to replace state Rep. Ron Sandack, R-Downers Grove, a top-ranking Republican who resigned abruptly citing "cyber security issues," according to a GOP statement.

David Olsen, 27, will replace Sandack, who was formerly Illinois' GOP floor leader.

Olsen also is a west suburban Downers Grove village commissioner.

This week, the ABC7 I-Team uncovered that Sandack had reported an internet scam to police on July 14, two weeks before he resigned.
