CHICAGO (WLS) -- Reverend Jesse Jackson endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton for president on Saturday, though Bernie Sanders backed Jackson when he ran for president in 1988.
"While the campaign is technically over, the crusade is not, so I support Hillary's campaign and Bernie's crusade," Jackson said.
He said he had been in touch with both campaigns. He called Clinton the "most qualified and best hope" to rebuild urban America and he said she could be trusted.
Jackson made the endorsement at the site of a memorial to Chicago children killed by violence.
