CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cardinal Francis George has returned home after he was hospitalized nearly a week, the Archdiocese of Chicago said.
Cardinal George was admitted to Loyola University Medical Center last Saturday, several months after he stopped treatment for kidney cancer.
The Archdiocese said he has been treated for dehydration and pain management and is now feeling better.
Earlier this month, Cardinal George spent nearly a week in the hospital for testing after he had trouble walking.
It was revealed earlier this week that the cardinal will not attend Easter services at Holy Name Cathedral because of his health. A year ago at this time the cancer had returned to his kidney and recently he said that cancer was not responding to normal treatment.
The cardinal retired in November and has said he is leaving his fate in God's hands.
