CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Gibbons 5K Run to support the Leukemia Research Foundation is getting ready for its 21st year in Chicago.
The June 18 event at Grant Park was created to honor the memory of Jim Gibbons, a 25-year veteran investigative reporter at ABC7 who passed away from Leukemia in 1994.
Since then, the Gibbons 5K has made its mission to eradicate all blood cancers.
Former Leukemia Research Foundation Board President and two-time Leukemia survivor Frank Martinez talked about his experiences and what to expect at the Gibbons 5K live on ABC7.
