Arlington Heights on 100 safest cities list by Neighborhood Scout

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Looking for a safe place to call home? Northwest suburban Arlington Heights is considered one of the safest in the country, one report says.

The online research firm Neighborhood Scout has named the suburb as one of the 100 safest cities.

FBI statistics show Arlington Heights as the fourth lowest crime rate in the US based on a 2013 report.

Police say 2014 looks even better, with an 8 percent drop in violent and property crime.
