Chicago native chosen as Rhodes Scholar

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A student from Chicago attending Yale University was honored as a Rhodes Scholar on Tuesday.

Olivia Klevorn, a graduate of Northside College Prep, became one of 32 students awarded the Rhodes Scholarship.

"I kind of blacked out to be honest, couldn't quite believe when they read my name off because everyone in the room was so impressive and so accomplished," said Klevorn, a cultural anthropology major.

Klevorn said she will spend two to four years in the United Kingdom, where she plans to pursue socio-legal studies.

Her mother said she always knew her daughter would be a Rhodes Scholar.
