CHICAGO (WLS) -- Greenhouse Scholars is an education organization that inspires and supports college students from low-income communities. On Saturday, August 9, 2014, hundreds of women are participating in the third annual Venus de Miles fun bike ride in north suburban Lake Forest to raise money for the organization.
The all-women's non-competitive Venus de Miles bike ride features three course options, 13, 28 and 64 miles, and it welcomes all ability levels, from newbies to experienced cyclists.
In addition, The Community Table will take place in Lake Forest on Saturday, August 9. This gourmet farm dinner at historic Elawa Farm will feature a multi-course meal prepared by Zo Schor of Chicago's Ada Street.
All proceeds from the non-competitive Venus de Miles ride and The Community Table help provide scholarship and mentorship to college students through Greenhouse Scholars.
