CHICAGO (WLS) -- While St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Chicago are always a lot of fun, it's also a time to give for children in need. The Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is collecting donations for their annual March for Kids campaign.
Volunteers take to the streets throughout the month of March to end child abuse. This year, volunteers across the country are also setting up their own 'virtual marches' and raising support online for Mercy Home through the March for Kids CrowdRise website. March for Kids is the public's opportunity to make a lasting difference for children who come the Mercy Home from environments marked by poverty, violence, and especially, abuse.
We had the opportunity to interview Mark Schmeltzer of the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls about the campaign.
