ROSEMONT, Ill. (WLS) -- The oldest organization in the U.S. serving people with Down Syndrome and their families is preparing for a big show. The National Association for Down Syndrome is hosting their 10th Annual Luncheon and Fashion show on Sunday, October 18, 2015, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in suburban Rosemont.
The event will feature people with Down syndrome of all ages modeling fashions from local retailers, guest speakers, special performances, a silent auction, and raffle prizes. Tickets for the Fashion Show are $60. The proceeds help support the NADS, which was founded in Chicago in 1961. Program coordinator, Linda Smarto, and her daughter, Julia Smarto, visited ABC7 Eyewitness News to preview this year's show.
