CHICAGO (WLS) -- For the first time ever Chicago will have a home proving long term care to veterans.

Governor Pat Quinn joined other city leaders Sunday for a ground breaking ceremony for the new veteran's home to be located at the corner of Forest Preserve Drive and Oak Park in the city's Northwest Side.

The facility will be five stories tall and will feature single-occupancy rooms.

This will be the fifth veteran home in Illinois.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2016.
