NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Pelicans say forward Anthony Davis is expected to return from a chest injury Tuesday night against the Utah Jazz.
The injury caused Davis to leave in the first quarter of the Pelicans' victory over Cleveland on Friday night, and then he sat out an overtime loss to Golden State on Sunday night.
Davis, who is averaging 24.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.7 blocks, had been listed as questionable before Tuesday's shootaround.
On Friday, he went from the arena to a hospital and stayed overnight for a series of scans and tests that came back negative. But he remained sore Sunday, so the team held him out as a precaution.
Team officials remain unsure what caused the injury, which coach Monty Williams referred to as a "freak deal."
