The long-awaited return of former Packers great Brett Favre to Green Bay will be realized Monday afternoon when Favre attends a tribute to Hall of Famer Bart Starr that will benefit a boys' ranch, according to sources.

Favre will be among those who will honor Starr, who is recovering from a stroke and is not scheduled to attend the event. The event will include Favre, Bart Starr Jr. and Hall of Famer Steve Young in what is being billed as a "Chalk Talk Luncheon" that benefits the Rawhide Boys Ranch, which Starr co-founded.

The luncheon will take place at Brett Favre's Steakhouse.

There were no plans for Favre to attend the "Monday Night Football" game between the Packers and Atlanta Falcons.

The record-setting Favre and the franchise have been in the process of healing a bitter separation that occurred when the team moved forward with Aaron Rodgers as its quarterback. There are plans to retire Favre's No. 4 in 2015, and he will be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016.
