CHICAGO -- Bears third-string quarterback Connor Shaw suffered what appeared to be a serious left leg injury late in the fourth quarter of the team's 23-7 preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

Shaw crumpled to the ground in pain after the lower portion of his left leg bent awkwardly while he moved to his right in the pocket.

Shaw's leg was immediately placed in an air cast, and he was lifted onto a cart and driven back to the locker room.

There was no immediate word on the extent of his injury.
