Shooting guard Frank Jackson, the No. 14 player in the ESPN 100 for the Class of 2016, told ESPN he will attend Duke.
"On my visit I just had a different feeling," Jackson said. "I trust Coach K. He is all about winning and I am all about winning."
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound combination guard from Alpine, Utah, initially committed to BYU in September 2013, but decommitted in November of 2014 and reopened his recruitment. Jackson selected the Blue Devils over BYU, Utah and Stanford.
Jackson's commitment also means he is likely to forgo a Mormon mission. Jackson initially said he planned to serve a mission and would begin his college basketball career in 2018, but has changed that plan and will suit up at Duke in 2016.
"Doing a mission is a great thing, but as of right now I am planning on playing in 2016," Jackson said. "I am still praying about it, so doing a mission still remains a possibility and Coach K was good with that."
Jackson is an athletic, versatile guard who averaged 27.0 points per game as a junior at Lone Peak High School and nearly 24 points per game for the Utah Prospects on the Adidas Uprising Gauntlet travel circuit. He excels on or off the ball, and is expected to use his perimeter versatility to thrive as a scorer and playmaker within the Duke system.
Jackson joins ESPN 100 No. 2 overall player Jayson Tatum in the Duke class of 2016. The Blue Devils' 2015 class, led by No. 3 Brandon Ingram and No. 11 Chase Jeter, was ranked No. 1 in the country.
