Jason Heyward out Monday with laceration to left hand

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is sitting out Monday's game against the Padres with a laceration to his left hand.

Heyward left Sunday's game against the Pirates in the second inning when he attempted to make a sliding catch on the warning track in foul territory.

Heyward is hitting .258 this season with six home runs and 29 RBIs while playing primarily right field.
