NEW YORK -- Gonzaga freshman Josh Perkins suffered a broken jaw when he was kicked by Georgia's Kenny Gaines in the second half of the Zags' 88-76 win on Wednesday night.

Gonzaga coach Mark Few told ESPN that Perkins will have his jaw wired and will be out indefinitely.

Perkins drove the baseline after faking a 3-pointer and Gaines caught Perkins with his shin flush in the jaw. Perkins fell to the floor, and was tended to by the trainer before walking on his own to the locker room.

Perkins went to receive medical tests after the game, where it was revealed that he suffered the broken jaw.

Perkins is a highly touted freshman who was averaging 6.3 points and 4.3 assists in 22.8 minutes while backing up potential All-American Kevin Pangos.
