CHICAGO -- Bears rookie linebackerLeonard Floyd left the game Saturday against Washington with a concussion. The ninth overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft has now sustained two concussions in the past five weeks.

The team announced Floyd was taken back to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion in the second quarter, and then officially ruled him out after halftime in a game the Bears lost 41-21.

On Nov. 20 in New York, Floyd suffered a scary injury versus the Giants that was later diagnosed as a concussion. Initially, the Bears feared Floyd had a neck injury when the crown of the rookie's helmet led into teammate Akiem Hicks' leg while Floyd attempted to make a tackle.

"You feel for your guys. You always want them to be as healthy as they can be," Hicks said.

Floyd remained on the ground for several minutes and was taken off the field on a backboard and cart, then rushed to a local hospital for observation.

Floyd missed the game during the following week, but he returned against San Francisco on Dec. 4.

"I get concerned about any player that gets injured, not just Leonard," coach John Fox said. "It is a physical game and injuries are part of it. I don't want to single one guy out."

The rookie out of Georgia is second on the team with seven sacks.
