Chicago White Sox outfielder Melky Cabrera left the game after a foul ball bounced off the plate and hit him in the eye while he was batting in the eighth inning Tuesday night against the Red Sox.
Cabrera was attended to by the trainer and initially stayed in the game, reaching base on an infield single off Red Sox reliever Blaine Boyer.
But Cabrera, who appeared to still be experiencing issues with the eye, left the game and was replaced by pinch runner Willie Garcia.
